Computer/Web Programming
Description
Students will get an introduction to computer programming and web development. The Computer/Web Programming course is designed to provide students with the professionalism, skills and knowledge to prepare for a career in the computer support field. Students learn about personal computer hardware by building several from new components and repairing others through troubleshooting, installing parts, using manual settings and plug-n-play techniques. Networking computers and use of the Internet will provide valuable tools to find documentation and drivers needed to repair computers. Students will study preparation materials for the A+ and Network + Certification exams. These certifications are designed to document an applicant’s knowledge of basic PC troubleshooting, networking and repair techniques. Program provides students with comprehensive computer maintenance and repair skills. Students will understand the variety of occupations in the information technology sector. Students will also learn to use a variety of:
- Hardware and software diagnostic tools
- Computer system design
- Software application and setup
- System resource utilization
- Intro to programming and web development
- Into to game programming and gaming
- Networking

High School juniors, seniors, and adults
Requirements
High School students must currently be enrolled in a high school in the Castro Valley, Hayward, San Lorenzo, or San Leandro school district.
Adult students must attend a mandatory R.O.P. orientation prior to registration.

8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
