On behalf of the Governing board, administration, teachers and staff of Eden Area Regional Occupational Program, I would like to welcome you to our website. EAROP is a dynamic Career Technical Educational program that is dedicated to student achievement and success.
You will discover a host of facts about EAROP, but most importantly, I hope you will sense our genuine commitment to providing the best Career Technical education possible for every student. Celebrating our 40th year, EAROP has served over 5,000 students a year from the Castro Valley, San Leandro and San Lorenzo Unified School Districts. EAROP offers programs on the campuses of our participating high schools, as well as capstone programs at the Hayward Center.
Over the past few years our philosophy and focus have shifted emphasis from traditional vocational education courses to providing a broad based rigorous career curriculum developed around four career areas; Business, Health and Service, Marketing and Industrial Technology. In line with our partner district’s Strategic Plan and Focus Areas, we are integrating 21st century learning skills, seamless pathways, with rigorous and relevant Career Technical Education. Our top priority is to continue to raise the bar so students are learning at higher levels and gaining the skills they will need to compete in an economy that runs on information and demands creativity and innovation.
Although we face reduced funding from the State of California that has led to unprecedented budget challenges, through shared commitment from our Governing Board, partner districts and business community, thoughtful planning and a strong accountability system, we continue to build an even better Career Technical Educational program that will inspire all of our students to do their very best.
